Slips of paper with my scribbles of former selves
dance in the full moonlight as they curl from within themselves.
The fire licks at their edges, and with each flame, an old self fades.
The smoke is heavy and dark, its scent of burning pervades.

Unraveling
The stillness before the rebuild begins,
caught between chaos and waiting for the world to spin.
Weightless, yet I carry our memories, pulling at my legs.
I snip at their ties, trying to break away, knowing severance is the only way.
A meditation on the suspended space between endings and renewal. It captures both struggle and liberation, inviting reflection on personal transformation.

Amethyst and Ash
I traced a circle round myself with an amethyst in hand,
Filled the crevices it left with shards of sea salt sand.
I faced the wind, called out, asked it to whisper—she answered in silence.
I breathed in dust, a lesson in disguise, reminding me I was always meant to rise.
A ritual of elemental healing — fire, water, earth, and wind as teachers of restoration. This excerpt hints at the full poem’s journey of letting go, grounding, and returning to one’s center.
